WCG Blog

So I love Warcraft and I found a WCG blog, or World Cyber Games. The blog had video interviews of the players, replays of games, and strategy guides. I enjoyed actually seeing of the of the big names players in person and hearing what they had to say as well as the story of their young lives. The replays are pretty sweet. It kind of makes me want to quit my life and just play video games forever, but I think I'll keep my amount of gaming time on a casual level because I do enjoy doing other things besides gaming.

Abraham Lincoln! You came back! But without your hat...

President Obama has fancied himself to be a reincarnate of Abraham Lincoln. Everything from Obama coming from Illinois to riding on a train to being sworn into office using the same Bible to eating the same meal, Obama has tried to mimick Abraham Lincoln. While this is all very cute of President Obama, he is no Abraham Lincoln.

First of all, it seems that Obama forgot that Lincoln was a Republican. Beyond that major dissimilarity, Lincoln’s view of the government’s role, and Lincoln’s principles are completely opposite of Obama’s. Here are some Lincoln quotes that illustrate how different the two men really are:

“Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him work diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.” Obama is all about pulling down the house of another that worked hard to help those who don't work as hard. This quote kind of fits with the quote, "You can give a man a fish and it will feed him for a day, or you can teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime." The second one should be stressed, but the first is what Obama is going for. This is also stressed in another of Lincoln's quotes, “You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.”

“Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.” Obama's tax plans will basically lower the capital of the upper class who earned the capital as a fruit of their labor. The capital will then go do the lower and middle class who may have not earned the fruit of their labor.

“Don’t interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties.” Obama believes activist Judges should rewrite the Constitution as they wish.

"Congressmen who willfully take action during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs, and should be arrested, exiled or hanged.” Obama was against the War on Terror from the start. Lincoln would have called him a saboteur.

The nerdest Blog EVER

Spencer Wilson is known in the world of gaming as several different names. I am called Shadow_Darkness, Deathbyalters, Shelooked18, and Ice-Nine. I am a level 28 Bloodmage with a 77.8% win rate that is ranked 4th in the entire world! I have also been invited to the WCG or the World Cyber Games. Needless to say, I am an expert at Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

The game can be played in several modes: free for all, Solo, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4. My partner Stephen, 18, from Michigan and I lead a 4v4 team that is ranked 4th in the world! There are four races that can be played: Orc, Human, Undead, and Night Elf. I play Undead, Stephen plays Human, and our other two players play the last races. To play the game you build basic workers who mine gold, chop wood, and build. You build barracks that train Heros and units. You can have up to 3 heros per game and as many units as possible, there's a 100 unit food limit. The objective of the game is to kill the opponents with your heros and units. The basic unit types are air, anti-air, magic, seige, and melee. These types all counter each other. For example, air counters melee. Which ever team does a better job of countering the other team's units will win. So basically warcraft is a big game of rock, paper, scissors, with strategic moves across the board to beat your opponent. This is the basic idea of warcraft, but there are many different combonations of units and ways to play.
